1. LEGGINGS/TIGHTS AS PANTS
People on the internet love to debate about this topic. While leggings are extremely comfortable and deep down we all wish we could wear them everyday, but in truth they are mean to be worn as either loungewear or sportswear. Wearing a cropped top or sweater and pairing it with a pair of leggings might not be the best idea, if you plan on going out or attending class. Same goes for tights, even if you choose to wear them under a longer shirt, that still does not make them an appropriate replacement for pants; think of them as accessories that are there just to enhance an outfit.

2. DON’T TRY TO WEAR A COSTUME
Meaning that you don’t have to match all of your pieces when building an outfit; for example, if you’re going for that biker chic vibe, don’t go all out with studded boots, jacket, a band tee and leather pants. That would definitely be a bit too much. Mix and match the pieces so your look is subtler but just as effective (Remember, you don’t want to look like you’re trying too hard)
3. WATCHES PAIRED WITH DRESSES
Watches look best matched with smart-casual, office outfits. While you might own quite the elegant type of watch, that does not mean it complements dresses or gowns. Or, even worse, pairing a digital watch with dresses. The best course of action here is to leave watches for your everyday, work outfits and search for some unique bracelets to pair with your formal outfits.
4. DON’T WEAR FAKE ITEMS
While there is no doubt that some fakes can look strikingly similar to the original, a true connoisseur will notice and they will deem it as tacky. It’s not a must to own designer pieces to be a well-dressed woman, learn to work with what you have already. Don’t waste your money on fakes and instead, look for unique pieces at affordable prices. Or, there is always the alternative of saving up and buying the real deal, if that is what your heart asks for.
5. HEELS THAT ARE TOO HIGH
Walking properly in high heels is an art in itself. For some, it can come as easily as walking in sneakers, and for others it takes a great deal of practice and patience to learn how to walk in them. It’s not recommended to try and walk in stilettos or heels that are too high/thin if you don’t know yet how to do it properly. It will end up looking like a disaster, so before you master the art, opt for more stable heels. Thick, square heels are a great start as they are much more stable and comfortable. Get used to shorter heels first.

6. MIX BOLD PRINTS TOGETHER
It’s great to be daring, and if you feel like you feel in love with a new shirt/dress/pants that have bold colors and patterns, feel free to wear it. But, always remember to keep the rest of outfit lowkey. Mixing patterns together will result in confusion, and not many people will appreciate the facts that it sticks out like a sore thumb. Be smart when it comes to those kinds of combos!
7. CLOTHES THAT DON’T FIT
Each body type has some certain pieces that will emphasize their most attractive assets and fit them properly; and some that do the exact opposite. Don’t invest money on clothing items that won’t fit and won’t flatter your figure in any way, no matter how good it might look on the store mannequin. The first rule of being a stylish woman is to know what clothes make you look your best;
